New Exhibition of QQ Quilts at Visitor Centre

A new exhibition of Quilts has now been installed at the Queanbeyan Visitor Centre replacing the 'On this Day' Challenge Quilts.

The new exhibition features the four QQ Award Winning Group Quilts - 'Rainbow Connection' Music Quilts 1 and 2' and 'Connecting Threads' Group Quilts - Red Line and Blue Line.

The 'Rainbow Connection' music quilts display nine small quilts, each by a different quilter which depicts a song title from each quilters range of favourite songs.

The 'Connecting Threads' also comprise nine small quilts joined by a red (or blue) line. The route of the red (or blue) line was predetermined and the quilters had to create a quilt to allow the line to flow through their quilt. The overall theme of the 'red line' group quilt allowed the quilters to unleash their imagination and use their own favourite technique. The 'blue line' quilt had a 'Water' theme but also allowed quilters to let their creativity loose in technique and subject.

Those visiting the Region are encouraged to call into the Visitor Information Centre, say 'Hi' to Tracey and view the quilts on display. They will be there for about 4 months.
