Who won the Raffle?

Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets over the past few months, your eagerness to do so was a marvellous thank you to all who were involved in making the quilt and selling tickets for hour after hour at Riverside Plaza, Spotlight, the Kingston Bus Depot Markets and at Canberra Quilters meetings. It was lovely talking to people about the quilts and how they were done.

This year we instituted a new feature, the Presentation. At this, the winners of the Viewers Choice and the Raffle were announced. The quilts were still up, some of the public were there to listen, all the Members who could attend were there and we were all keyed up ready for the final lap.

Tony very kindly drew the winning raffle tickets for Bryony to announce and for Narell to describe the prizes from our very generous sponsors:

1st Prize   Nightingale, the red and white quilt made by members of Queanbeyan Quilters and quilting donated by Kay's Quilts, was won by Trish Tritschler from Bungendore, NSW.

2nd Prize  Bali Crossing, the colourful batik quilt made by members of Queanbeyan Quilters and quilting donated by Kay's Quilts, was won by Karen Travis from Griffith, ACT.

3rd Prize  Brother Innov-is NV210 Quilters Edition sewing maching, donated by Canberra Sewing at 26 Colbee Court, Phillip, ACT, was won by Christine Barnicoat from Ngunnawal, ACT.

The Viewers Choice Quilt - First Choice

This was the top pick from all our viewers this weekend at the Queanbeyan Quilters Exhibition 2014

Beautifully made by Narell and custom quilted by Kay's Quilts

Mothers Day Raffle

Tickets for this pretty quilt are available from the Queanbeyan Hospital Auxiliary on Sunday 6th April, they will be in the RB Smith Centre, across Crawford Street from the Quilt Exhibition in the Queanbeyan Bicentennial Hall.

Exhibition Time

This was a well-stocked table of goodies on Friday night when the Exhibition opened. Many thanks to Sue for the huge amount of work that she put into making and assembling items and then displaying them to advantage for us all to enjoy.

Members have worked hard over the past two years to make a wide variety of quilts. Robyn set us Challenges galore; when you visit the Exhibition you will be greeted by them as you enter.

The raffle will be drawn on Sunday 6th during our 3pm Presentation of Prizes.
Be sure to buy your ticket if you have not done so already. Or just buy another one anyway!
